Streamlined, revised, updated, with a new format (16.5 x 21 cm), a fresh design and 1,576 pages, the Touratech catalogue 2017/2018 presents a host of new ideas and innovative products for all adventures big and small on two wheels.
The range comprises accessories for around 40 motorcycle models, including the 2017 version of the BMW R 1200 GS accompanied by brilliant impressions from the “Red Continent” test ride with this motorbike.
Touratech has made substantial investments in modern technologies and manufacturing methods, leading to many exciting new developments – such as the “Rallye” and “Rallye Extreme” engine guards, where a new process has eliminated unsightly weld seams. Tested on the Touratech Africa Twin RR – the winning bike off the 2016 Hellas Rally – the engine guard has proven its qualities in harsh off road use.
For appreciably enhanced ride comfort, aerodynamically optimised windscreens are available for many motorcycle models, as are innovative heat-control seats. Operated independently of the on board electronics, they deliver maximum warmth while minimising power consumption. Another premiere is the only truly waterproof soft luggage system that attaches extremely easily to nearly all pannier racks available on the market.
More technological prowess is demonstrated by the Touratech R 1200 GS Rambler: a real, ready-to-go concept bike at less than 200 kilos, with outstanding off-road credentials that are documented in a travel story about the Azores.
New additions also feature in riding gear – where Touratech presents the AVENTURO EnduroX, a high-tech off-road helmet – and Touratech Suspension: while the “Competition” range is aimed at ambitious sports riders, “Black-T” suspension systems have been developed for urban bike fans who appreciate classic design paired with the latest technology.
With all of this and much more, including the usual great photos and reports, the Touratech catalogue 2017/2018 makes an enticing read. A clearly structured table of contents and a detailed index make finding products easy. The first section is dedicated to special parts for specific motorbikes, with individual models sorted alphabetically and in descending order of engine size. The middle part contains sections covering the cockpit, luggage, seats, windscreens, Touratech Suspension and universal motorcycle accessories, followed by riding gear, films and books, helmet cameras, lifestyle, navigation and outdoor.
